Belong

In my church, we talk a lot about placement. Go where you're called, stay where you're planted. This is a lot easier said than done in the world we live in. We have so many options. It's so easy to just get up and leave if we don't like something. But God places us for a reason.

A couple weeks ago at my co-op, we had someone come in and he talked about trust. Dictionary.com defines trust as reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing. The confident expectation of something; hope. He said that just because we feel like we don't fit in sometimes, that doesn't mean we don't belong. I am someone who feels like that a lot. I'm shy, quiet. Even when I'm with my friends, I can feel left out because I struggle with conversation sometimes. I am also strangely mature. The combination results in an extremely awkward teenager and the feeling that I don't fit in.

But, God created me, made me who I am. I have to trust that He has a plan. I may not feel like I fit in anywhere but I trust and know that we were placed where we are for a reason. We belong.

Life is not always easy. We'll go places that make us uncomfortable and meet people we don't quite get along with. When that happens, we have to trust that God has a plan. He never calls us to a place without making sure it's ready for us first.

You belong.
